Matteo Mandelli (Monza, 1988) developed an independent practice outside traditional academic contexts, grounded in experimentation within public space and in research spanning art, technology, and social intervention. His work encompasses performance, installation, site-specific pieces, and participatory projects, with consistent attention to themes of contemporary identity, collective responsibility, and environmental impact. From 2018 he has produced urban interventions including "Lo Spazzino di Monza" and "Specchio Porta Venezia", centered on the relationship between the work, its context, and the public. Between 2019 and 2021 he developed "Cryptotramp", an itinerant performance project investigating social invisibility through the experience of life on the street. In 2023 he initiated "The Contact", a cycle of performances structured around the destruction of the screen as a ritual of digital matter's transformation. Alongside this, he developed "Cybercarpet" (2024–2025), a project interweaving textile tradition and technology through the insertion of electronic circuits into antique rugs and artisanal artifacts. In 2024 he realized "From the Sea to the Market", a public and environmental art project unfolding between Milan and Lombok. His most recent research converges in "The Algorithm Creed – Il Confessionale Digitale", a participatory installation reflecting on the relationship between intimacy, ritual, and artificial intelligence.
