Tatsuru Arai is a Japanese composer, sound-graphic programmer, and creator of Gesamtkunstwerk. Arai’s main artistic direction lies in integrating classical compositions into new technology and presenting the fundamental physical nature of the universe in the form of perceptual experiences that have the aesthetics of “geometric structure”. The human perception of sound, a physical phenomenon, influences human beings and the “geometric structure” is a fundamental pillar that allows us to understand the true nature of the universe. Thus, Arai focuses on creating a way to experience even a part of the nature of the universe through sound. Since 2016 he has been composing Hyper Serial Music — the algorithm music generated by state-of-the-art technology such as Artificial Intelligence — that adds innovation to the principle of Serialism three-point: "structural", "complex" and "noisy". He has performed this work in over 70 cities. Tatsuru Arai holds a BA in Composition from Tokyo College of Music and an MA in Composition, Computer-programming and Multimedia art from Academy of Music (Berlin).
