Nisan Uluğ

Born in Denizli in 2004, Zeynep Nisan Uluğ is an artist whose work challenges the boundaries between the personal and the political. Currently pursuing a degree in Political Science and International Relations at Boğaziçi University, they bring a critical, analytical lens to their visual practice.Nisan began exhibiting work in 2018 and has since established a presence with two solo exhibitions in Denizli and participation in collective shows at Boğaziçi GSK, Karga, and Sahika. The human form is central to her art as she treats the body as a vessel for emotion rather than a perfect anatomical study. Through a diverse array of media ranging from acrylics, oil and mixed media, she investigates the human condition, often depicting figures in states of introspection, conflict, or transformation. Intrusive graphic elements and contrast palette of her work explores the subconscious along with social structures. Their work invites viewers to confront both the internal landscapes of the mind and the external pressures of the modern world.
