John Bock’s contemporary Dadaism, replete with absurdist interventions into language, grotesque and macabre mises-en-scène and a healthy dose of anarchy, encompasses performance, installation, film, sculpture and drawing. Bock gained acclaim for his ‘lectures’ in which he performs amongst an environment of music, lights and arrangements of everyday materials, that typically go on to form the body of an exhibition as an installation across multiple media.
