Işıl Özışık

He received his first painting education in the workshops of Ömer Hatipoğlu, Turgut Zaim, Cemal Bingöl and Eşref Üren during his secondary and high school years, respectively. He graduated from Ankara University, Department of Archaeology and Art History and completed his master's degree at Middle East Technical University, Department of Construction and Restoration Architecture. After a three-year period as an archaeological assistant following his higher education, the artist, who devoted himself entirely to painting, also worked professionally as an Art Director in the field of advertising. Although Özışık continues to paint with all kinds of materials, he is regarded as one of the important artists of watercolour painting in our country. His paintings are dominated by the landscape themes of Istanbul, where he fell in love with nature, and Washington DC, where he lives. The works of the artist, who has held more than a hundred solo exhibitions in Turkey and abroad to date, are included in the collections of private and public institutions and organisations in Turkey and abroad.
