Eteri Chkadua

Eteri's art is profoundly influenced by her upbringing in Tbilisi, Georgia during the 1970s, a time when the Soviet Union held sway over the country. Having left the country in late 1980s and migrating to the United States has inspired the artist to never leave her origins behind. Eteri's artwork introduces us to her culture, its traditions and shortcomings at the geopolitical gunpoint. Her paintings touch various subjects, such as race, gender, feminism, religion, traditions, gay rights, etc.
