Welsh-born photographer David Hurn first made a name for himself as a photojournalist covering the 1956 Hungarian revolution. In the 1960s, Hurn was frequently tapped by Hollywood filmmakers and producers requesting promotional images: he worked on James Bond: From Russia with Love, Barbarella, and A Hard Days Night. Considered one of Britain’s most influential photojournalists, Hurn once reflected that, “life as it unfolds in front of the camera is full of so much complexity, wonder and surprise that I find it unnecessary to create new realities.”
