Serkan Küçüközcü
Serkan Küçüközcü was born in Eskişehir in 1980 where he completed a degree in Print Arts at the Anatolian University of Fine Arts. He attended a number of group shows and workshops both in Turkey and other countries. Küçüközcü places daily life objects in unfamiliar spaces in order to create surprising, dream-like atmospheres in his paintings. In these unknown places there is no mankind and the atmosphere questions the sense of belonging that one has sought throughout the history; by taking out the human out from these dreamscapes, the childhood of a person is stolen, toys of a child is stolen, a carousel in a park, a balloon is stolen from us by the artist and is delivered to the unknown nature. On the one hand, these colourful but dull objects create the feeling of displacement and homelessness and on the other hand, they form a dream space in which we can constantly reproduce and continue our stories that we create through our imagination.
