Gökhun Baltacı
Gökhun Baltacı describes his encounter with pastel as "intuitive". His first attempt in the medium is with the pastels Mon Ami and results in a series dealing with childhood and memories, entitled “Survey”. Through an exploration of personal memories and everyday objects, the artist aims to unravel and alter their significance. His research journey turns into an ongoing inquiry and expands to encompass the strange and the subconscious. Baltacı views the mind as a guide and seeks to navigate to uncharted territories. Gökhun Baltacı studied at Hacettepe School of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, where he successively obtained a bachelor’s degree in 2015 and a master’s degree in 2018. As a second-year student, he co-founded the art collective "Avareler" and engaged in public spaces to transform his protest message into artistic expression.
