Dilşad Akçayöz

In 2009, Dilşad Akçayöz (b.1989, Istanbul) began his undergraduate education in the Sculpture Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University. His passion for sculpture, which had been evident since childhood, was too strong to be overlooked. The infinity of form that called to his took its place in his life as the most important language since his educational years. The artist, who started to showcase herself in international sculpture symposiums, group exhibitions, and art fairs, stood out with his figurative approach that conveys the bond between the artist and the artwork, characterized by an introspective, meditative understanding. After completing his master's degree in the Sculpture Major at the Institute of Fine Arts at Marmara University, he withdrew to his studio, leaving his thesis behind, and devoted himself to his passionate research and production. This was a significant turning point in his life. Observing that the rapid developments of our time have mechanized the way humans perceive, the artist focused on the search for meaning in emotional layers by highlighting inner journeys in his idealized figurative sculptures. Choosing to navigate through emotional layers, discover new layers of meaning, and create new layers, the artist aims for a kind of spiritual dialogue that occurs between the artist, the artwork, and the viewer.
