David Martirosyan

David Martirosyan

Armenian·1983–günümüz

David Martirosyan was born in 1983 in Kapan, Armenia. After graduating from Kapan Fine Arts School in 2000, he started to study at Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts and graduated from the Painting Department of the university in 2006. The artist, who has participated in group exhibitions in Armenia, Russia and the Czech Republic since 2004, has been working with Galeri 77 since 2019. According to David Martirosyan, who stated that he had difficulty in drawing through his imagination since childhood and that it was easier for him to paint based on the life around him and what he saw, the most important element in painting is composition. The artist once discovered copyrighted photography while trying to find different means of composition and was heavily influenced by names such as Karl Blossfeldt, Eugene Smith and Vivian Maier. Stating that he thinks like a photographer while painting, the works of the artist semble scenes taken from life. For David Martirosyan, pictorially, Enguerrand Quarton's "Pieta" is the ideal example of harmony and symmetry in composition. The works of David Martirosyan can be found in private collections around the World in various countries such as Armenia, France, Germany, Russia, Turkey, Czech Republic, UK, USA, China.
