Selin Tahtakılıç
During her education, Selin frequently participated in children’s book projects, which shaped her design consciousness in children’s publishing and continues to influence her current work. Her visual language, rooted in graphic elements, vibrant colors, and child-centered themes, reflects a world designed for children. One of her key inspirations is the unfiltered way children experience emotions. Observing how children navigate sadness, happiness, and love, she strives to translate these emotions into visual imagery. The geometric forms and motifs she often employs serve as reflections of the emotions she aims to express.Reconnecting with the embroidery techniques her grandmother taught her as a child, Selin began integrating these traditional methods into her work years later. By combining traditional embroidery with contemporary illustration, her creations bring motifs to life while allowing her to engage in a meditative creative process. Through her vibrant colors and childlike expressions, she aims to evoke moments of euphoria and joy in her audience.
