Fahrettin Örenli
Fahrettin Örenli (b.1969, Pertek, Turkey) pays attention on the border, having been born between two different Turkish races, living two different countries of Netherlands and Turkey. Örenli studied at Gerrit Rietveld Academie(1998) and continued his study at the Rijksakademie Van Beeldende Kunsten(2001). He had residences in several places such as MMCA Residency Changdong, Seoul (2017); Platform Garanti (SALT) in Istanbul(2006-07), and the ISCP New York. In Amsterdam, Örenli was awarded Royal Painting Prize (2000) and the ABN AMRO Art Prize (2004). Örenli recently held a solo exhibition at Art Sonje Center, and showed at diverse international institutions including the Museo de Antioquia, Medellín/Colombia, Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam, and Istanbul Modern. His works are included in collections of the Vehbi Koc Foundation, ABN-AMRO, De Heus-Zomer, AMC Art Collections.
